About the Championship

The Arab Open Robotics Championship is one of the most significant competitions for students across the Arab world since 2008. It serves as a meeting place for brilliant minds and creative youth who are entrusted with building the future of our region through modern technology.


Libya's Success Story:
Libya's first official participation was in 2024 in Amman, Jordan in its 15th edition. Following the first-ever national qualifiers held by L.I.R.A, 8 teams qualified to represent the country. The Libyan team achieved remarkable success, bringing home 4 Awards, including 1st Place in the Innovation Challenge.

Athough, in 2022, Teams from the Academy (L.I.R.A) participated in the 13th edition in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

Competition Challenges

Participants compete in Beginner and Advanced categories across these key challenges:

01. Line Tracking

Ages: 8 - 18 | Tools: LEGO (Beginner) / Open (Advanced)

Teams must build robots capable of using sensors to identify and follow a line drawn on the ground at high speed while maintaining their path.

02. Sumo Challenge

Ages: 8 - 18 | Tools: LEGO (Beginner) / Open (Advanced)

A battle of strength and strategy in a closed arena. Robots must push their opponent out of the ring to win. This challenge develops competitive strategy and problem-solving skills.

03. Ball Collector

Ages: 8 - 24 (University included) | Tools: LEGO / Open Hardware

Robots must identify, collect, and sort colored balls from a specific area and return them to the starting point. This tests object recognition and critical thinking.

04. Young Innovators

Ages: 13 - 18 | Tools: Open Market Tools

Focuses on stimulating creativity. Teams must design a new invention or project that creates a positive impact on society.
